Reviews and Ratings
The hotel is ideally located, offering a great rural experience while being close enough to Windermere for convenience. The rooms were comfortable, but the lack of views was a downside. The dining experience was excellent, with a high-quality breakfast provided. Service was friendly, but the missed opportunity for a cozy fireplace atmosphere was disappointing.
The hotel offers immaculate rooms named after local peaks, next to the Plant room. The bathrooms and showers are excellent. The service includes attentive housekeeping and a welcome drink, with pet amenities available. The location is superb for local walks and sightseeing, although the bar area no longer features a cozy log fire. The dining experience, while offering both continental and cooked breakfast, can be salty and slow. Overall, a mixed experience with high standards in some areas.
The hotel offers beautifully decorated rooms with fresh milk provided for teas and coffees but can be a bit small and lacking fresh air. The bathrooms and shower are excellent, though improvements could be made considering the cost.
