The hotel is ideally located, offering a great rural experience while being close enough to Windermere for convenience. The rooms were comfortable, but the lack of views was a downside. The hotel offers immaculate rooms named after local peaks, next to the Plant room. The bathrooms and showers are excellent. The service includes attentive housekeeping and a welcome drink, with pet amenities available. The location is superb for local walks and sightseeing, although the bar area no longer features a cozy log fire. The dining experience, while offering both continental and cooked breakfast, can be salty and slow. Overall, a mixed experience with high standards in some areas.
